Expeditions start in Blantyre from where the route runs to Mount Mulanje, to Zomba and then up North along the shoreline of Lake Malawi - covering 2000+ km over 14 days.
Your motorcycle is transported from Cape Town or Johannesburg to Blantyre, saving you weeks on traveling time. Border papers and third-party insurance in Malawi are arranged on your behalf.
Most of the trip (almost 70%) will be on tar/paved roads except for shorter sections of dirt to the lodges/overnight accommodation and of course a few gravel roads to visit interesting places and towns and see some of the lesser-traveled gems hidden in this amazing country.
Small groups of 5 to 8 motorcycles allow for a more personalised and unique experience.
The trip is suitable for intermediate riders and is pillion friendly (Because you would love to share this amasing experience with someone special).
Motorcycle rentals can be arranged. If you prefer this option, please contact us for a quotation.

Have you ever walked into your local motorcycle dealership and wondered where those posters were taken of fellow riding partners living the dream? Perhaps you watched the Long Way Down, followed Uwe on Facebook or you have dreamt of that journey through Africa; just you, your bike, nature and some friends…
Reality is many people dream of their ultimate ride but never seem to get so far as they don’t really know what they are signing up for. It is the fear of the unknown that prohibits great adventure riders from taking that final step to discover what seems the impossible on their adventure bikes.
The Venda three day expedition awareness trip will allow you to overcome those uncertainties…
The trip will see you follow experienced expedition riders through some of the most scenic rural areas of South Africa. You will experience sleeping under the stars where the Milky way is as clear as a Vanilla shake, and camp sites are determined by the students. Further to this great insights will be shared by experienced riders who will take you into uncharted territory, learning all the do’s and don’ts of expedition riding. Some riding techniques will be shared with the students and there is a lot of creativity with regards to our meals.
Share your war stories with the rest of the group around the campfire with the sound of water gushing down a waterfall being your music when you lay down for the evening.
From the tropical Soutpansberg to the Limpopo valley, the terrain varies from relatively easy to more advanced and you should experience dirt, rocks, sand, mud, the odd forest and from time to time we will have to be creative and make our own way.
After this weekend you will be equipped with sufficient knowledge to ensure that you travel easy, light and safely on your next journey. More importantly you will know if you have what it takes to embark on that once in a lifetime journey and who those friends should be that you invite to accompany you.
